About Us

The Marple Safety Coalition was formed in February of 2021, as residents of Marple Township came together to defend the decision, on November 18, 2020, by the Marple Zoning Hearing Board, to DENY a request by PECO to build a Gas Expansion Plant in a n area zoned for Neighborhood business, at the corner of Sproul and Cedar Grove Roads.

Since that time, we have organized a new civic organization, knocked on doors with petitions, distributed flyers and met with a variety of stakeholders, including PECO (not successfully), local and state officials, and business owners.

The five members of the core team are Julie Baker, Holly Cross, Bob D'Orazio, Greg Fat, and Ted Uhlman.
